Apply for the 2019 Thoth Awards; Early Bird Deadline June 7
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 14, 2019) — The Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) invites PR professionals in the Washington area to submit their best communication campaigns or components for the 2019 Thoth Awards. Named for the Egyptian god of communication, the Thoth (pronounced “tot”) Awards recognize the outstanding strategic public relations programs and components developed and produced in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
Early bird entries are due Friday, June 7; all entries must be submitted by Monday, July 1. Winners will be announced at PRSA-NCC’s Thoth Awards Luncheon on Friday, September 27 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the National Press Club.
The awards committee has implemented innovative changes this year, including: special pricing for first-time PRSA-NCC members submitting for the awards and IPRA members, and streamlining the number of award categories from 42 to 30. For example, media relations is now a program category instead of a component, and single-issue publication and annual report have been combined into the publications component category.
“For more than 50 years, the Thoth Awards have celebrated the exceptional creativity and ability of public relations professionals in the Washington, D.C. area,” said PRSA-NCC President, Stacy Hope. “We look forward to once again showcasing the expertise of our region’s world-class communicators at this year’s ceremony.”
During the Thoth Awards Luncheon, PRSA-NCC will also recognize its 2019 National Capital Public Relations Hall of Fame award winners, who are professionals in the industry with more than 30 years of experience, including distinguished accomplishments, visionary leadership, contributions to the profession through industry member associations, board leadership, and mentoring and developing others. They also need to have shown a commitment of time and talent with their local public relations community with an intent to inspire the next generation of public relations professionals to excel. Nominations for the Hall of Fame Award are due by midnight on Friday, July 26.
