December 2019 President’s Message by Stacy Hope

Dear Colleagues,

It has been my pleasure and my privilege to serve as your 2019 chapter president. As the year comes to a close, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the chapter’s accomplishments, driven by our amazing members and committed volunteer leaders.

In 2019, we welcomed a new chapter management team at RMK Productions. As part of this transition, chapter leaders worked with RMK to identify opportunities to improve chapter operations related to event planning, financial and administrative processes, and marketing and communications. We also searched for and identified opportunities to increase efficiency and save money, realizing a savings of between $5,000 and $7,000 in 2019 alone.

This savings contributed to the overall positive financial health of our chapter. I am pleased to report that we expect to finish 2019 solidly in the black, thanks also in part to the tireless efforts of our sponsorship and event planning teams.

In 2019, PRSA-NCC leadership committed to find new ways to add value for our members through enhanced professional development opportunities, networking events, and more. This year, we hosted 35 events, attracting nearly 1,400 participants.

Another priority for this year’s board was the long-overdue redevelopment of the PRSA-NCC website. Before the end of the year, you can expect to see a totally revamped site, featuring an enhanced visual presence, streamlined navigation, full mobile responsiveness, and integration of our popular blog posts with the main site.

These accomplishments are all exciting, but it is truly the interactions with my fellow members that have made my presidency worthwhile. Thank you for electing me to serve you. It was truly my honor to work with such an accomplished group of members and leaders, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our chapter.
