HOW TO EDIT YOUR OWN WRITING – Tuesday, May 24 from 10 – 11:30 am
Editing your own work is about so much more than typos and semicolons. In this workshop, we’ll talk about the many different kinds of editing you already do at work, and how you can learn to be more effective and efficient when you edit your work.
You’ll learn how to frame your editing decisions in the context of your larger goals, think like your end readers, make high-impact edits during quick turnarounds, and know when and how to use different editing technologies.
HOW TO EDIT OTHER PEOPLE’S WRITING – Thursday, May 26 from 10 – 11:30 am
This webinar gives participants practical skills for editing their coworkers’ writing and asking for and receiving feedback on their own work.
We’ll cover different scenarios for giving a colleague writing feedback, and introduce specific considerations, techniques, and tools for each. Participants will learn how to use the framework we teach in our writing workshops to provide feedback that improves the document at hand but also helps their colleagues build writing skills over time.
When colleagues learn to collaborate well on their writing, it’s not just their work that improves—it’s their working relationships, too. People stop feeling attacked, critiqued, or bogged down, and instead feel supported and confident. This webinar will help your team work together more smoothly and ultimately produce more impactful written products.
