PRSA NCC is working again with Bold Type to present a 3-hour workshop where participants will learn a proven framework for writing and editing their work with help from generative AI.
This workshop is appropriate for attendees who are actively using AI or experimenting for the first time. Over two, 90-minute, hands-on sessions, participants will practice planning, prompting, revising, and editing with gen AI.
After the workshop, participants will be able to:
● Apply our ART (Audience, Result, Tone) tool for audience awareness
● Create effective prompts for different writing tasks
● Improve usability and formatting when editing drafts
● Understand where human oversight remains essential in the editorial process
● Consider privacy and accuracy implications
● Edit for signs of AI-generated copy
● Use tools for style, grammar, and proofreading
The workshop will be presented in two sessions on Oct. 7 & 8. Attendees can purchase a one-day pass for either day or purchase a pass for both days. Learning objectives for both days include:
October 7
- Ground rules for writing with gen AI • Ethics, accuracy, and privacy.
- The “ART” of audience awareness • Plan for your document’s Audience, Result, and Tone with gen AI.
- Prompt engineering •Useful prompts are a paragraph, not a couple of words; learn two approaches to prompting for better gen AI output.
October 8
- Information design • Format your writing to keep readers engaged.
- Signs of AI-generated copy• Learn the linguistic habits that plague both wordy humans and AI output; revise for specific signs of AI-generated copy.
- Testing, editing, and proofreading • The best tools for self-editing, and when and how to use them as an adjunct to gen AI’s editing capabilities.
