Inspired by the recent historic announcements by the Biden-Harris administration of the all-women communications team and major news networks’ assignment of women to lead White House coverage of the administration, Washington Women in PR (WWPR) and The National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA NCC) are pleased to present a virtual discussion with Ashley Etienne, Communications Director, Office of the Vice President of the United States.
This virtual discussion, moderated by Lisa Nicole Matthews, current President of the National Press Club and Assignment Manager of Video at the Associated Press, will explore Ms. Etienne’s career trajectory, past and present roles at the White House and Congress, and explore the public relations / communications industry at this pivotal moment in time.
Ms. Etienne previously served as Communications Director and Senior Advisor to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, the first woman and person of color to hold the position. Before that, Etienne was Special Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Cabinet in the Obama-Biden administration.
The event also hopes to capture Ms. Etienne’s insights on the broader moment of generational change an all-women White House communications team signals and inspires for diversity, equality and inclusion in all workplaces.
WWPR and PRSA NCC hope you can join us for this Women’s History Month event, now that Madam Vice President is no longer a fictional character, and celebrate that the future is female, from Mompreneurs to the She-Suite, and the White House.
Portions of the proceeds of this event would be allocated to mentoring programs for young professionals and diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives at both WWPR and PRSA NCC.
