Description
The Social Marketing/Communications Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for the Army Resilience Directorate (ARD) client projects. Specifically, the Social Marketing/Communications Specialist will support the ARD Director of Communications, Outreach & Leadership Engagement. The Social Marketing/Communications Specialist will provide functional leadership on projects, lead analyses to draw conclusions and develop insightful recommendations and solutions. The Social Marketing/Communications Specialist interacts regularly with the client as a trusted functional advisor.
Duties
Act as lead in implementing an in-depth, enterprise-level Strategic Marketing Roadmap (SMR) for Army SHARP programs and services and ARD’s programs and services (including, but not limited to, Suicide Prevention, Personal Readiness & Resilience, and Alcohol & Substance Abuse).
Ensure themes, messages, and desired outcomes of the SMR are synchronized across all channels (including but not limited to paid, earned, and owned media, social marketing materials, and Strategic Communication Plan).
Establish concepts, directional touchpoints, toolkits, and required materials for the successful launch of the roadmap.
Monitor the success of the tactics and recommend decisions based on data to make SMR refinements and develop future SMR phases.
Manage vendors and their associated deliverables to ensure that they meet contract obligations.
Develop a Strategic Communication Plan to include themes, key messages, talking points, and measures of effectiveness for all ARD’s target audiences across the directorate’s major programs and initiatives.
Manage four sponsorship agreements and the corresponding monthly content for each sponsorship.
Develop Army SHARP communication and marketing materials supporting Army events/activities such as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM), Resilience in Focus/Action, and the Program Improvement Forum.
May work onsite at a client office location in Arlington, VA.
This may include occasional travel.
Qualifications
Minimum ten years of experience planning, developing, executing, and assessing social marketing campaigns. Well-versed in the stages of social marketing as well as social marketing benchmark criteria.
Minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in either mass communication, marketing, advertising, public relations, health communications, or journalism.
Subject matter expertise in Strategic Communications.
Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
Strong work ethic with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
Ability to interface with executive-level clients
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
It may require the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
