KATE PERRIN
Kate Perrin put 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing communications to use to found PRofessional Solutions, LLC, the Washington area’s first public relations temp agency. The firm, which was unique in the DC area, specialized in meeting the communications temporary staffing needs of area nonprofits, associations, government agencies, and corporations. It operated from 1994 through 2020.
Prior to PRofessional Solutions, Ms. Perrin was director of public relations for The American College of Emergency Physicians. She chaired the first Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) PR Woman of the Year awards program in 1990 and was elected president in 1992. She has served on the Boards of the International Association of Business Communicators and Dress for Success DC, received the 2009 Women in Communications Matrix Award, and has been a member of the Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital Women’s Advisory Board and part of the Smithsonian Women’s Committee leadership for the past four years.
Ms. Perrin earned a BA in Print Journalism and MS in Public Relations from American University where she has served on the Library Council for more than 10 years.
