Member Spotlight: Esther Berg

Q: Where do you work?

I’m a communications officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts, a nonpartisan organization that uses data to make a difference. As an officer, I lead communications strategy for different projects within Pew – where I’ve been for the past 7 years.

Presently, I work on the student loan initiative, which does research on improving the federal student loan repayment system, and Pew’s evidence project, which works to connect research evidence to policy and decision-making by shaping how research and evidence is generated, used, and valued.

Q: How long have you been a PRSA member? About 6.5 years.

Q: How has your career benefited from being a PRSA member?

I’ve been able to take advantage of several webinars, and training courses. Going to ICON was a great opportunity to meet other like-minded professionals.

Q: Can you share a fun fact?

I was the PTA president at one of the elementary schools I attended as a child. Both of my kids have been at that school (Crestwood Elementary) since kindergarten!

Q: How other members can connect with you (e.g., LinkedIn link, PRSA Profile, etc.)

I can be found here on LinkedIn, and very occasionally of late on X @estherberg

Q: Do you have any hobbies?

I was born in Kenya, but I’m a slow-distance runner. I still enjoy running and will do races from 5K to half marathons.
