Q: About you, where do you work?

I work at our wonderful Howard Community College (HCC) located in Columbia, Maryland, as the Director of Public Relations. I am a proud alumna of HCC and have been working in higher ed for over two decades. I have been in the world of PR for over 15 years and love what I do! What gets me up in the morning is definitely, hands down, our students. They are inspiring and continuously impress me with their intellect, strength, and grit.

Q: How long have you been a PRSA member?

I am a lifelong learner, constantly looking into new trends and wanting to further my knowledge base to help our organization and our students. Being a PRSA member is a wonderful space for that, regardless of experience. I can always find new, interesting training that shines a different light on various PR topics.

Q: Any tips or advice for new members?

To new members, I would say: narrow your search to what you are most passionate about, or what you would like to learn the most about first. PRSA has so many learning opportunities and you will never run out of topics or new material.

Q: Fun Fact?

A bit more about me as a person; I have a theatre background and have been pulling from that background in my job as a public relations professional and leader. I always say, “The theatre prepares!”

As a Greek woman who came to the States in adulthood, I would say my favorite place to travel to is back home to Greece (but I might be biased). I am currently reading “Beyond Reason: Using Emotions as You Negotiate,” by Roger Fisher and Daniel Shapiro and highly recommend it. I am an animal lover and have four dogs: Murphy, Brownie, Georgia, and Tumbles. I love them all equally (that’s a lie, Murphy is my favorite).

Q: How other members can connect with you (e.g., LinkedIn link, PRSA Profile, etc.)
