National Capital Chapter

Member Spotlight: Laura Ambrosio

Q: About you, where do you work?

I’m Laura Ambrosio, a communications professional with over a decade of expertise in media relations and public affairs. I’m currently managing communication strategy for an association representing global brands and startups within the dynamic technology industry.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling (my favorite place so far is Italy), baking (ask me for my chocolate lovers brownie recipe), and walking outdoors across the many DC area trails and parks.

Q: How long have you been a PRSA member and how have you benefited from being a member?

Driven by my passion for lifelong learning, I became a PRSA member after completing my master’s degree in strategic communication for the continuous professional development opportunities. As a PRSA-NCC Member, I have been able to give back to the field by previously serving on the Board of Directors and as the University Relations Committee Chair. In these roles, I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the direction of the chapter and support the next generation of public relations professionals.

Q: Any tips or advice for new members?

I would encourage members, especially newcomers, to explore the many ways to get involved with the chapter whether through volunteering on a committee, attending a networking event, mentoring etc.

Q: How other members can connect with you (e.g., LinkedIn link, PRSA Profile, etc.)

Let’s connect! You can find my LinkedIn here
