Speaker:
- Deanna Troust, Founder, 3 Stories Communications and Truth in Common
Description
Mis- and disinformation are changing the way we communicate, destroying relationships, dividing communities and creating risks for organizations. Deanna Troust will share insights on how the epidemic has evolved and a path forward that centers people and organizations. She’ll share research from the disinformation and social division arenas, tips for restoring access to fact-based content and the particular role professional communicators can play. As experts in channels, campaigns, content and human behavior, communicators are ideally equipped to take a stand for the truth, yet have largely been left out of solutions design and implementation.
Deanna is a long-time social change communicator and founder of 3 Stories Communications, a consultancy dedicated to inclusive strategy development in the mis/disinformation and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) spaces. Her recently launched nonprofit, Truth in Common, forwards human-centered approaches to addressing mis/disinformation that include a workshop series, newsletter, digital community and advisory services. With applications for both businesses and community groups, a key focus is harnessing the power of professional communicators to help tackle this global issue.
