PRSA National Capital Chapter Awards Submissions Open to Honor Outstanding Communications Programs and Professionals

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 27, 2020) The Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter (PRSA NCC) invites brands, agencies and professionals in the Washington area to submit their communication campaigns or components for its annual awards program. The Awards honor the most outstanding communications programs and components in crisis communications, internal communications, community relations, research and a variety of other categories.

The deadline for early bird submissions with discounted fees is Wednesday, June 24, 2020, and the final deadline for submissions is Friday, July 24, 2020. Winners will be announced and recognized at PRSA NCC’s annual Awards Gala, which will be held this fall.

“For more than 50 years, the PRSA National Capital Chapter awards have recognized exemplary strategic, creative and inspirational work of Washington-area communicators,” said Lisa Kiefer, PRSA NCC president. “Communications professionals have a challenging job at any time, and particularly this year. We are proud to host this program to honor these individuals and their initiatives as models for the broader profession.”

New Changes this Year to Improve Application Experience

Apply Early to Take Advantage of Discounted Submission Fees

Deadlines and Submission Fees Are as Follows:

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE AND FEES: Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. 
PRSA NCC Members:
    • $95 for First-Time submitters
    • $140 for Component entries
    • $160 for Program, Institute for Public Relations (IPR) Award, and PR Agency and Communication Team Award entries
Non-NCC Members (PRSA National only and/or Non-PRSA members):
    • $190 for Component entries
    • $210 for Program, IPR Award, and PR Agency and Communication Team Award entries
FINAL DEADLINE AND STANDARD FEES: Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, July 24, 2020.
PRSA NCC Members:
    • $135 for First-time submitters
    • $180 for Component entries
    • $200 for Program, IPR Award, and PR Agency and Communication Team Award entries
Non-NCC Members (PRSA National only and/or Non-PRSA members):
    • $230 for Component entries
    • $250 for Program, IPR Award, and PR Agency and Communication Team Award entries


National Capital Public Relations Hall of Fame Nominations Open

During the Thoth Awards event, PRSA NCC will also recognize its 2020 National Capital Public Relations Hall of Fame award winners. These individuals are professionals with more than 30 years of experience, including distinguished accomplishments, visionary leadership, contributions to the communications profession through industry associations, board leadership, mentoring and developing others, and commitment of time and talent to their local community with an intent to inspire the next generation of professionals to excel. Nominations for the Hall of Fame Award are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, July 24.
