Develop Invaluable Leadership Skills and Contribute to Your Professional Community

Being a PRSA NCC member is an investment you make over the course of your entire career. After you’ve gained valuable knowledge and experience in the public relations and communications community, how can you give back? Volunteering your time, expertise, and leadership helps establish the content for the chapter’s programming and sets you apart as an industry leader who is helping with the long-term growth of the profession. Volunteering and participating with the chapter gains lifelong connections with fellow communications leaders and cultivates the next generation of the communications and public relations industry.

Becoming a Committee Member

With numerous committees, including membership, sponsorship, marketing communications, public affairs & government, professional development, and pro bono programs, there is something for everyone. Explore our opportunities to make the most out of your membership and make an impact in the region by joining chairing a PRSA NCC committee.

Joining the Board of Directors

Many committee chairs eventually transition onto the chapter’s Board of Directors, helping oversee the chapter’s more than 40 annual professional development and networking programs designed to advance professionalism and support career growth. If you plan to stay in the public relations and communications field, you should gain a perspective of the work from all angles, especially the governance arena. More importantly, if you aspire to become a CMO, CCO, or other C-suite leadership position, board experience will prove to be an invaluable opportunity to hone your management skills.

Taking on Regional and National Leadership Responsibilities

Many of our chapter leaders further their service to the profession by taking on leadership responsibilities at either the regional or the national level.
